Oh how I wish I could show you some pics....I got the goodie swap back just the other day..and OMG lots of fun stuff and I can't even show you :(((

Mom and Dad have a bunch of my stuff in storage and went through and repacked everything in rubbermaid tubs! They are so sweet!! They found alot of my craft supplies and sent me my tin of Grandmas buttons she had left to me...and lacey trims! They also sent, feathers and all the fabrics I had....Yay!! Now I just have to find places to put all this stuff lol.

Hubby brought home for me a small desk lamp, so I can see what the heck I am doing hehe....and a storage box with plastic drawers for me to put all my unmounted rubber stamps in! It's perfect! Now we are contemplating shelving of some sort to put all my stuff in....I was thinking about some sort of wall mounted cubbies...so I can see all my fabrics, papers, and collage supplies and maybe adding a small table by my desk to put my paints, crayons and such on to give me more work space....ahem...to make bigger messes on LOL

At the moment I am thinking of a new technique for you all to try! It looks like fun! I gotta try it out first and take pictures as I go so that I can share it with you!!!

Someone needs our help!

I was just informed of some news that is not easy for me to take.....My dear friend in Tennessee...her daughter woke up one morning blind in both eyes....they rushed her to the hospital for testing.....This lovely little girl of 6 yrs old was diagnosed with the early stages of MS.
They are running more tests and will know more on the 18th of August...as she may possibly also have Blood Cancer.....as of a few days ago her left eye has cleared up and doctors have told her that her eyes should clear up in 6 to 8 months...God willing....Her daughters name is Ariel Boswell....her mother is finding me a photo of her to post....What I want to do is gather a community of artists to pull together and create art to sell to help fund the hospital bills for little Ariel....Her mother has stated that the insurance they have will not cover everything. If any of you could help with this...please say so! I hate it when children get sick...I would gladly take their place if God would allow.

I know I have had my trials this year but nothing in comparison to what this little girl is going through. So, please if you are able to help in any way please contact me here or you may email me at mrmrsfritz@comporium.net

IMT~Open Challenge ~To Just Paint

For IMT Open Challenge....I challenged myself to just paint....Never done this sort of painting in my life....I call this piece...."A Day At The Lake"....It is done in watercolors on a 5 x 7 gesso'd canvas. I had quite a good time with this! I think I will keep this up....It is very much enjoyable and calming to paint with watercolors.

IMT ~ Open challenge

Open challenge eh? Well alright! IMT is taking a short break and gave us an open challenge!

For myself the challenge would be to attempt to paint on canvas...just paint nothing more...no paper, no collage pieces, no glue! Just paint! It has been a long put off thing for me....I am intimidated by just painting...so I am going to give it a whirl!

These are the questions asked of us on IMT.

Favorite source of inspiration? Well, for me inspiration comes from many places, but if I would have to choose a fav.....boy thats a tough one! I guess I would have to choose my artsy pals...when they get excited about art !! Just gets me revved up to create!

Do I feel the need to shake things up in my art?

I plan on rockin' the world with art! LOL

Am I in the mood to try a new technique?

Oh, most definately!! The more I try and learn the more I grow as an artist and gives me more options when I create a piece! Bring it on!!!

A new color palette! Hmmm what color haven't I used is the question! I suppose that would fall in the pinks category! Not fond of pink!

A new medium? I am kind of limited over here for new mediums...I am what you call the poor starving artist...who uses what is on hand! But I would have to say if it is affordable, I am more than willing!!!!

What is my passion? Cheesecake! Ok, kidding! My passion is to be as versitile as possible when it comes to art.....My passion for art started in my early childhood and has always been a part of me! My passion is to learn as much as possible and teach art when and where possible...and to encourage those who wish to become an artist!

What are my fears? That my arthritis will take over my ability to create! But I am not about to let that get in my way!

What are my favorite things about creating? The process! You can find out so much about yourself in the creative process! Then of course there is glue hehe Nothing more satisfying about a hard days work and peeling the glue from your fingertips LOL

What is my least favorite thing about creating? Oh I am sure everyone will agree on this one is the cleanup from the aftermath!

Why do I create? I create because .....I can! I create because it is in me to do so! I create because it helps me get through some of the toughest times life throws at you! If I went a day without creating something...I would feel I was not living up to my potential!

Why are you an artist? Why? Because of all the influential people that have come into my life...and as so the non-influential people in my life. My mother taught me how to color and encouraged me! I think artists are born with some sort of art gene lol...it is a part of who we are and take that gift and do wonderous things with it! It is a gift from God and I am so thankful that I received such a special gift from him!

How would you describe your art? Oh my! here we go! I have so many different ways for creating art...but to best describe it.....Colorful, whimsy, odd, sometimes serious, but mostly odd with a touch of humor! Best described as "Quirky". That is just my sense of humor showing through and why not use art to show who I am!!! :P I am not to crazy about giving a title to things....like "Outsider artist". I suppose that "Quirky" "Outsider art" and I suppose if I must add "Abstract" to the list!

What are my goals? If we are talking art here, well....To put away my fears and just create without hesitation, to be more free with my art. To leave behind my mark in this world to say, "I am Nancy Baumiller and I created this". My main goal is to teach art to others and excite them with art and help them get through tough times with art! Art heals! To help as many people as I can, to encourage as many people as I can, and make as many people as I can smile and laugh at life! I want my art to teach others and see my art as me...to understand who I really am!!!!

What are my dreams? Hmmm well I think this comes before goals...dreams were given to us to make them come true....good ones ahem! Dreams are something to give life to! Without them we wouldn't be able to make goals. I dream of many things...mostly daydreaming...I don't remember my dreams...I kinda tend to sleep like a rock lol....I would pretty much have to say that my dreams are set into my goals that I stated above^. "We are never given dreams without the power to make them happen". I dream of so many things...but it is up to me to decipher which of those dreams can actually be a reality! My dreams are to be the best that I can be without regrets! To take this gift that God has given me and give it back to the world! :)

So, with this, I challenge myself to just paint! No planning, no thinking, no hesitations....JUST PAINT.

Last of the tutorial for Altered book covers

I believe we left off at cutting out your text and adhering it to your book cover...if I left something out, please don't hesitate to ask, I will be more than happy to help you out! :)

Here is my image and text adhered to my book cover!

Let's move on to some texture!

Step 12(i think lol): Adding texture.

Here I have one of those infamous starbucks coffee sleeves that my hubby brings me...minus the coffee ahem! lol ....tear into smaller pieces and arrange them on your background...once your happy with the arrangement go ahead and glue them down.

Step 13: With the same paints we used earlier for the background....brush on a dab of turquoise and let dry...then use your antiquing gel medium over top and wipe off excess.

And here it is....finished!!! You can add other bits and pieces to your altered book cover...the possibilities are endless!!

Part 3 Altered book cover

As I said yesterday Blogger would not let me add anymore photos to my blog for this tutorial..so here we go again...hopefully I can finish this up for you and quit teasing y'all lol...

Continued from Step 8:

After using the antiquing gel medium...this is how your book cover should look...or close to it!

Step 9: Choosing your image(s) and font...

Here I choose an older woman and her dog(you can use any image out there available..there are many collage sheets available or find you an image in a magazine that suits your interest) and for my font I went into Microsoft word (or you can use Microsoft paint) or whatever other text program you have....choose what type of font you would like to use for this project. The font type I used for this project was, "Poor Richard"...one of my favs!

Step 10: I put this step in for those of you who are beginners....Here is where you cut out your image and then set aside.

*Tip ...when cutting out images and you will find some images have some pretty tight spots to use regular scissors...for those little spots..cuticle scissors (you know the tiny scissors you use to remove unwanted cuticles from your nails) these work wonders and can get into those small places your other scissors will not!

Step 11: A lesson I learned from an artsy friend ArtbyChrysti....Add interest to your text...don't just leave it a plain white...especially if you have an art piece with an antique background...never leave your text unfinished....you can do many things to your text to add color...here I used antiquing gel medium...I applied it directly with my fingers and just rub it across ...or you can use a dry brush technique with water colors or colored pencils.....most of the time I use a ball point pen to outline the words before cutting them out.

Ok! Here we go with blogger again....this is all they will let me add for today...so sorry to tease y'all like this! We will get thru this sooner or later lol....So go ahead and cut out your text and arrange them on your book cover to suit you! We will go on tomorrow about adding more texture and interest to your altered book cover! :)

Here AH HA I finally figured out how to link LMAO writing html code is easy once you get the hang of it...anywho....

and post your interest in this challenge! :) In this Zetti doll challenge you can use anything to create your doll...paper, clay, hmmm paperclay hehe, cloth and other fibers, beads...you name it, it is game as long as it has the Zetti feel to it!! Pssst I thought of something last night on this topic...If you choose to use paper for this doll.....it is a great way to learn how to make your own Zetti characters for your art!!! I don't know why I didn't think of this before!!! I started one doll last night to get the group started on this challenge and will have it posted later in the day on that sight and possibly here too!

Part 2 of the Altered book cover collage

Oh yay! It let me post a pic hehehehe....Now lets see how far blogger will let me get with the tutorial today! LOL

Step 6: For this project I used a turquoise color (it is actually a Caribbean Green..close enough lol) and antiquing gel medium....if you don't have this you can use a bit of brown paint....keep in mind brown paint does not wipe off as well as the antiquing gel med. For the turquoise part...Get your brush wet and then dab off as much water on a towel then dip brush into the turquoise paint and dab off again on a towel.....we are doing a dry brush technique as to not get the paper background too wet...to avoid bubbling your paper... see step 7

Step 7: Here is a photo of where I am randomly dry brushing the turquoise paint on....just do this in spot where you think you might like to see the color peek thru...

Step 8: Now we are going to antique our background....Using the antiquing gel medium or brownish paint we are going to do about the same thing as we did with our paint color...you might want your brush just a tad bit more wet than in the last step....now brush on small sections of antiquing gel med. to your background and grab a rag or paper towel and wipe the excess off....you can rub this around a bit to get more coverage (the gel does spread around pretty well) continue this step till your piece is all antiqued...just play with it till you are satisfied with the look.

Grrrrrrrrrr blogger will not let me post no more pics at this time! What a pain! This will keep y'all on your toes lol....I suppose I will have to try later with the rest of the steps! Again! Sorry all...you will get the whole tutorial eventually lol.... :P*rasberries* to blogger!

I guess I will get some art done while we are all waiting lol....and get some of it listed on eBay...

Altered book cover tutorial Part 2

Altered book cover collage tutorial...for Lia and my Blog Sista's Part 1

Lia asked for an altered book cover collage tutorial...so here you go sweetie!

Step 1: Choose the book cover size you would like to use for this project. You can leave the cover on the book for an altered book project or you can go on as follows in the tutorial.

Step 2: If you would like to use just the cover for this project (works as a canvas board of sorts) then you will need to remove the cover from the book using a craft knife as shown in photo.

We are going to use this inside cover for the base of your collage. Lets move onto step 3.

Step 3: Choosing your papers for your background. I used painted magazine papers and old scrap book pages...Use up those scraps girls!!!

Step 4: Tear up your papers into smaller pieces. Use a good variety of papers to give your art piece more interest.

Step 5: Arrange your torn papers in a pleasing matter. Arrange them till you are happy with it, then adhere to the your base using glue stick or gel medium.

Ok I gotta stop here....and do another post....blogger isn't letting me put any more pic's on this one for some darn reason! ugh! See the rest of the steps in the next blog post.... :P

Hmmmm another bad pic LOL....eh well! Goodmorning to all my blog sista's!!! I spent a few hours last night just de-stressing by painting backgrounds...I did this while everyone else in the house was sleeping....helps me relax so I can sleep better....I manged to get four backgrounds done and I like the bottom left greenish one...it is so cool in person and I like the top right redish one.....they are all done on mag paper of course...a cheap resourceful art supply for me!

Yesterday Lia had mentioned on my Flickr that, she would like to see my process on bookcover collages.....I am thinking of a step by step with pictures...I will work on this, this afternoon.

Hub brought home some envies and some bubble wrap for my packaging situation...this is all he could get ahold of at the time....there is a Fed Ex/kinkos (sp) downtown in Charlotte where he works...walks by the place everyday...but always too busy with work to stop in and get the scoop on what I need....since they do prints I have a couple of questions to ask of them....cost on per prints...so I can get my new collage sheets listed in eBay and also my colored collage sheets....the new collage sheets are black and white and are mostly old photos I have found or family vintage photos and also has some useful words to cut out and use in collages. I also made a word collage sheet that I would like to have printed too!

Finding faces for collages is not easy...I have always wondered where on earth Teesha Moore comes up with her face images....they are so cool....I search and search for cool and interesting faces to not only use in my collages but also for making collage sheets for others to use....Legs and feet and arms are another difficult one to come up with....I have put off buying TM's limbs rubber stamp sheet for quite some time now...trying to come up with my own images....I will continue to work on this....my prob is when I do find something I get too excited and incorporate them into a collage and often forget to scan the separate images to my computer.. lol

I am off now to get a cup of coffee and get busy on the book cover collages to show Lia and the rest of my blog sista's....and get something for the IF challenge~capture done...I am thinking an ACEO.

Foods that should come with warning labels!!!

As the title says, "Foods That Should Come With Warning Labels"!!!!....This is one of those TMI moments, but none the less funny as heck!
This cheese dip I bought at WalMart...it's a spicy cheese dip...I love spicey! yummy! But potentially could be toxic to yourself or other household members. Anywho....I had some of this spicey cheese dip w/ crackers for lunch with my sandwich yesterday.....later that afternoon.....weeeeeeeeeeedoggie!!!!!!!! I am telling you what!!!!!!!! I chased myself out of my studio!!!!!!!! YIkes! I know that is too much information! But my lawdy this stuff is toxic LOL....my hubby said its, "Nauxic( Nausiated + Toxic = Nauxic) LOL ...hes so funny....a brat too I might add....I told him last night in bed...I should post this....as it would get quiet in the bedroom...I would start giggling...and then say, Naw thats just nassy lol......this happened a few times till I finally went to sleep....got up this morning got the kids and hub off to school and work....and sat down at the computer and once again....I got the case of the giggles and just couldn't resist!! hehehe....sorry ...hope I didn't offend anyone! :D

I need your imput! Please!

One of my customers bought an ACEO...and in the mail it got bent! As you know eBay has raised their listing fees.....and I try to keep shipping costs down...I usually send the small bit of art in a protective sleeve and wrapped inside the shipping invoice....and then put into a regular envie....Do any of you have any ideas for as to protect the art piece even more for mailing? And keep my costs down at the same time???? I really need your help! This is the first time this has happened....I didnt receive bad feedback but stated I need to basically rethink my packaging! Also...I wonder how I should handle this as far as if I should give her an in store credit? or send her something else? or what? Please help! Thanks!

Child At HeART

Changed the name of my blog finally...and yup! this is the second blog for today....the previous one was for IMT....

Decided to do a Journal Art Page today..."Child At HeART". The left side of it got cut off in the scan there is about another 1/2 inch to this page. Did it all on a mag paper w/ mag acrylic mag papers! hehe....Not sure if I am done with it...I have a few more hours to play till the kids come home...today was their first day back to school! I'm telling ya...they were so excited!...as we approached the door to their classrooms, they got a bit of the shyness bug...so cute! I am enjoying my quiet time but at the same time, missing them and wondering how their day is going..I was looking forward to this day all summer...of getting some piece and quiet...but it is so hard not having them around....I am very protective of my girls...and hate when they are out of my sight! ugh!

I wanted to let the gals that are playing the collage supply swap...which is down to 3 people...Suzanne, Mary Ann and myself...so I think we all have each others address...anywho back to what I was saying...wanted to let the Mary Ann and Suzanne know that the box has been shipped and on it's way to Suzanne!!! Yay! Hope she enjoys what I stuffed in that little box and finds something she wants to use in her art! Have fun!! :)

IMT Challenge~ Black and White

Finally got the IMT B&W challenge done! It took me awhile to come up with an idea and this is what I did...I have created a black and white collage on 8x10 wrapped canvas....I gesso'd the canvas and let it dry...I then scanned into my computer a vintage dictionary page and then printed it out 3 times on my black laser printer...then tore the 3 copies up and adhered them to the canvas....then I painted around them with black acrylic paint...I then found the image of these ladies at Flickr Collage Images....and adhered them to the piece....I went into the microsoft paint program and did the lettering w/black background. It reads, "It's not trash, it's ephemera!" hehe....I kinda like it. I then added a black and white checker'd bow to the top left corner.....Hmmmm I wonder if someone I know will recognize where that pretty little ribbon came from hehehehe.

Ok ladies! I have put together a box of supplies for our swap! It weighed in less than a pound so shipping costs should cost less than 5 bucks! Depending on what all you put in it hehe!
So far on the swap goodies list of interested folksy peeps( I put everyone in order as I received there comment on interest on this swap) We have:

What I need from all of you is to email me with your home addresses....so as the box works it's way around to each
person, I can then provide that person with the address of who the box of goodies goes to next.

Lets say, by Monday! Any interests after that will have to wait till the next go round!

Well so far we only have 3 people including me for a supply swap!

If anyone wants to join in please say so soon! Ive got my clean desk covered in goodies now for a swap hehe....

Not sure how we should all do this....I have only done one supply swap which was a flat rate box filled to the gills and then passed on to person to person. They then took out what they wanted and put back equal value of what they took..sad to say I don't think I have enough stuff to stuff a box that big LOL. I am really hoping to get to the antique store (aka junk shop) this weekend and a couple flea markets to see what I can find.

I am thinking of making goodies packages for each individual that joins the swap....I feel it is more personal that way and fair.....what do you think? Like I have said I have never really done this ....so your help and input is needed here! Pretty please!

No matter what the decision I would like to keep this simple....paper stuff and small things for easy mailing....Now you have probably seen some of my funky art so part of the stuff I send is fun and funky....and I will throw in some pretties too!

Let's get this ball rolling girls....:) Can you tell I am a bit excited lol

Yay! I am back on!

This morning was a bit of a booger but I am back at it again! I had woke up to no cable or phone...ugh! Hubby took care of it finally...I had to wait til someone came online in yahoo to pm them to call my hub to tell him about the situation....Yahoo chat was the only option I could get a response from....The cable company must of put a damper on the speed of my computer til the bill was paid....sheesh

But I did manage to finish a piece of art I had started yesterday while waiting for my puter to speed back up..."The Right Attitude" it reads as follows " With the right attitude you can accomplish anything" ....I was chatting earlier with an artsy friend of mine and we were talking about how we artists get "stuck" ya know the lack of inspiration bug! And I had mulled that over a bit in my head....and said...I really don't think we are stuck...i think it is a growing spurt...if you look at it this way....when you come back from being "stuck" do you notice a difference in your art! Something new you tried or added to your art?....What do you all think?

I enjoyed doing this piece...I think it is kinda fun with the 3 stooges peeking in from the side and the attitude of the girl in the piece! I found the body image in a mag and the face image is from Teesha Moore... I had run out of canvas's so ....I hit the books...literally! lol I created it on a book cover that i removed from an old book with an exacto knife! Like the one on flickr that I did previously.... Almost like working on canvas board...I like it hehe...I have got to go and get busy with creating some more of those ACEO's :) Hugs and love to you all!

Age is just a number they say...

The closer I get to menopause the older I feel....I don't like it one bit...I don't mind getting older or that I have a ton of white in my hair...or the wrinkles that are starting to pop up...I believe wrinkles are a way of telling your lifes story...But I will agree that they look so much sexier on a man LOL...Anywho...it is the way I feel the changes internally that my body is going thru and the state my mind is in....I normally am a happy go lucky kinda gal...and lately I am just a grumpy ol soul...I miss that happy gal....I had a long talk with my girls last night about changes a woman goes thru about my age....they were empathetic and seemed to understand to the best their minds could let them....they gave me hugs and kisses and made me feel so much better and so loved....last night they were the best behaved children a mother could ask for....they let me relax and let me enjoy the evening quietly sitting in the living room as a family watching tv...I normally don't watch much tv...if Dark Angel is on...I am there front and center like a little kid in front of the tv...love that show....something about tv shows or movies with women that kick butt just seem to hit home with me....I am not a violent person thank God...but appreciate a woman who can take care of themselves if need be.

I am rambling...aren't I ? hehehe The above pic I took of the giveaway from Mary Ann...I was shocked when my name was drawn....I never win anything! A bit of family history

Holy lawdy! Look at the cheeks on that baby! lol That is Moi at 5 months old! I was adopted into a German family and this is the day they brought me home!

I have no german in me at all...My papers say, I am Dutch and Irish!

At the age of 8(I believe) I still remember the moment my mother told me I was adopted...I remember being upset and confused about it all...wasn't quite sure how to feel. I was given up at birth. The only things I know about my biological parents is that 1) I was the result of an affair. 2) My mother has the same description of how I look today. 3) My father was a tall man of 6' 2". And thats about it...

My parents adopted 4 children ....2 girls and 2 boys. My sister being the oldest then my brothers and last was me. Yup the baby of the family.

I had a wonderful childhood...My parents treated all of us as their own. If they would of never told us we were adopted we wouldn't of known any different.

Now on to two other special people (whom are with God now) are my Grandparents...

Meet Helen and John! Two of the sweetest people you could ever meet! They are my Mothers parents...They were so funny together. Grandpa was always being silly and trying to get away with something...but as always Grandma would catch him and mumble something to him in German...I believe it was "dumbs***" in german. You had to laugh at them because Grandpa would always have that boyish grin and Grandma would shake her finger at him and say," Just wait til I get you home mister!!!" lol

Grandma was born in Germany...My Grandpa who is also german, was actually born in Russia.

One day (this is the time they met) My Grandma was cooling pies in the window...and Grandpa just happen to walk by and smelled the sweet aroma of home baked pies....he just had to find out who made them....so he did and she offered him some pie....and they were together from that moment! :) I am surprised Grandpa didn't try to sneak a pie and hide out under a tree to eat it LOL... My Grandma made the best german desserts....Oh I am telling you what...sugar cookies in german (I am sure i am not spelling it correctly but)...Suga Cooka....YUM! She also made snowballs and rosettes! I miss Grandma! hehe...I will learn how to make these for my children for the holidays. I hope it gives them memories like they did for me. I will however not make them eat Borcht...Blahhhhhhhh Beet soup....that is so nassy! LOL sorry Grandma...I just couldn't stomach it! The thing about German families (at least in my family) they stuff ya to the gills with food...You never go hungry! lol....ask for a piece of pie and you might as well have asked for the whole pie and a fork LOL....ahhhhhhh the memories hehe.

Well Judy and SuzieQ you have finally got to see my baby picture lol....I have not found any other pics of me yet...I am pretty sure alot of my photos (among alot of other stuff) is still in storage at my parents house...I will get all that stuff one of these days...hopefully sooner than later.

I have my ideas laid out here on my desk for the IMT challenge~ Music....just hope it goes together as I have pictured it.

I still have yet to start IF and IMT challenges! I am really stuck on stupid on those two challenges. I have an idea for the IF challenge~clean....I am sure no one has thought of..or at least as far as I know. The IMT music one is the one I am really stuck on....It will come to me..

Now I have a question for y'all.....Of all the art I create...which type do you think you like best....the antique'y stuff? or the bright colors(whimsy and Zetti)? Just curious....I guess I am feeling lost these days....I can't quite explain it....I thought I would ask to help unclutter my mind. I get really bad during PMS and can't make sense of anything! It bothers me so.

I have been thinking about us all doing some sort of swap! Anyone interested? I was thinking of supplies swap...paper stuff and small items? Let me know if any of you are interested! I don't know about you...but I get bored using the same things over and over....I thought it would be fun to do a swap!

Well...I am off to get me another cup of coffee....and get busy cleaning my house! Yuck! I need to win the lottery and hire all of us maids and cooks LOL ...Hey! it sounded good! hehe

New items on eBay!

3 brand new ACEO's !

The first one is "Ice Cream Fairy"...created on heavy cardboard and covered with acrylic painted magazine paper. The fairy image on this piece came from www.outsidethemargins.com and I cut some small bits of scrap paper for her icecream and cone! I added some text and gorgeous fibers! Also, added some glitter paint to the piece! It didn't come out as bright from scan..actually alot brighter colors in person! Where you see light pink is actually more of a fushia. So pretty!

Next in line is "Mail Fairy" Such a cute little piece of art! I did the background in the same manor as the first. The image is another one from www.outsidethemargins.com I added some text and more lovely fibers! Painted some cute little flowers at the bottom and topped the piece off with a pretty red heart gem! I love this one...the little girl fairy is so adorable!

This last one was done a bit differently! "Flower Garden Fairy" I used a vintage dictionary page for the background and inked the edges with Tim Holtz's Distressing Ink! Yup you guessed it...the image came once again from www.outsidethemargins.com I added a bit of glitter paint in places to this piece to liven it up even more! I added a white mother of pearl button to adorn her sweet pointy hat and a few clear flower gems(and the heart gem from previous piece) from Chrysti at http://stores.ebay.com/Covet-Me at bottom of piece for interest!

A new found blog friend, Mary Ann http://1of4sisters.blogspot.com/is busily cleaning out her studio of artsy stuff, and decided to do a freebie give away! I have seen others do this...and I think it is mighty wonderful!

So I thought why not!....I will give it a go! I may do this again in the future!!!

Is it Christmas already? Naw couldn't be...

Christmas in July?! Yes definately! It's never to early to get going on those Christmas art projects! I had a blast with these...umm ya I was playing Christmas music hehe...kinda strange to hear it when it is so hot out! But it did put me in the mood to get these 3 ACEO/atc's done! :)

Then I came across a couple other images to do the next 2!

They are not Christmas themed but they were fun none the less.....The one showed here with the red polka dots
"Imagination" I thought this little girl was adorable and gave her some mighty big wings!

And I believe that saying is so true! Your imagination can take you anywhere you want to go and doesn't cost a thing! Well, I guess that all depends on where your imagination takes you hehe!

"Hopeless Romantic"...ahem...yes so I am hopeless when it comes to romance....I just adore this one! I used some of the handmade papers I got from Chrysti! They are so nice and just take to the piece so nicely!

I had one more to add....but after looking at it really well I realized that I had some of my small text words in the wrong places! hehe

I have been blessed....

I truly have been blessed..Not only with a wonderful family but since the beginning of this year when I started showing my art...my life has grown...and my heart feels so good, to have the friends I have met here! Y'all mean so much to me! My heart bursts with pride when I see my friends wings grow and grow and watched how your art has progressed over the last few months...I am amazed! And truly blessed to be able to call you friend! You have been such an inspiration to me. (no I am not going anywhere) this is a point in my life I want to always remember! So thank you my friends for coming into my life!

Ok enough mushy stuff hehe!

I did this art page a few days ago...with painted papers and face and hat image from www.teeshamoore.com "Be the change you want to see in the world." My change for the world is to make as many people smile as possible...With all the hate and war in this world and how people are prejudice against another individual...prejudice comes from ignorance....not knowing...not understanding....not taking the time to learn about other races or individual people....It takes alot of energy to hate....and so easy to just love.....and accept. I don't think I have ever hated anyone in my lifetime...including my ex husbands lol.....I hate what they did....but dont hate them....(I don't exect anyone to agree with what I am going to say) Same sex marriages...why are some people so against it? are they not happy in their own lives that they choose to hate? do they not care or understand and just easier to say they are against it? .....who knows! I am all for it! I feel if they are happy then so be it! Couldn't the world stand a little bit more love!?

Now sit back and think of all the good things you have been blessed with! You will see your life a little differently.......a child...a pet....a talent....think about all the things we take for granted and you will see how blessed you really and truly are! Grrrrrrr! This blogger account is getting to be a real pain! I keep getting error pages and trouble getting photos to upload...and half the time takes for ever to get everything to post!

I am thinking more and more about that Wordpress blog...I am just thinking if it is going to be a hassle to get everything from here to there...and how much stuff will I lose....that would be like your journal or diary getting stolen!... ya know! I have put alot of time and effort into blogger and I just don't know what I really want to do.

I was going to post my IF challenge Opposites.(I put it on Flickr)..but got an error page....I really didn't get much of anything done yesterday....as my daughter was having her temper tantrums....ugh! I try to spend as much time with my girls as possible....they are just not grasping that this is not only my work but my dream. I have waiting many many years for this....but at the same time I don't want them feeling left out! It is getting harder to stay up late to work....as I have the girls all day long....and they dont need a grumpy Mommy! And during the day is getting damn near impossible to get anything finished.....Soooooooooooooo....I will be slowing down till after the first week of August and mostly getting my art addiction in on the weekends....

Yup! Y'all guessed it....I am PMSing.... :P Maybe I will just hide out for a few days til I am in a better mood! Hate this feeling! PMS stinks!!!!! HA! If I hid during this time you wouldn't see the likes of me for 2 1/2 weeks!! Ya it lasts that long! I doubt I can stay away long....I would miss y'all too much hehe...

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH forget all that noise!! I am getting published YIPPPPPPPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!! Scrap with Ally just emailed me with the wonderful news...2 of my art pages will be published in her new book...The Complete Idiot's Guide to Altered Art Illistrated! How cool is that!!! Love me tender love me true.............

Seen this puppy dog in a magazine and thought of the lyrics, "Love me Tender Love me true". I guess a continuance from my Childs play piece with the Love me tender theme.

I am not much fan for dogs as I am cats...but he was so adorable...I guess it is the little yip yappers I don't deal with...funny how I can handle bigger dogs compared to the small ones....the reason for that being...as a child I was bit by a small dog on the back of my ankle...and literally chased me up a tree! lol....good thing I could climb trees and avoid another bite from this small creature....if you can visualize this it is actually quite commical lol....Just like when my cat sneaks outside (being an indoor cat) and a 41 yr old woman chasing this blessed cat around the yard...hes an ornery bugger lol...I am postive that my neighbors get quite a chuckle! But they never let on that they do....These neighbors have grown up here and keep to themselves...they don't say "hi" or "how are you?"....It is kind of sad actually. I would love to get to know these people....I have no one here to organize a neighborhood function....like a BBQ cook off (erm grill off as they say) with a table full of ingredients and they have to use only 3...or maybe in the fall a Harvest party ....where tables are set up for children to paint their own pumpkins and win a prize and adults have a pumpkin carving contest...and serve hot apple spiced cider....Ok I am daydreaming lol...You know how you see these sort of families and their friends on tv...they look like they have the ultimate gatherings! Somebody pull me out of this dreamland...sheesh!

It just upsets me that people don't do these things anymore! Do you get what I am saying here...People are just too busy to get together anymore and have quality time! Do they not like having friends? Well one day when I am financially on top of things...I will take it upon myself to plan a gathering....get these people to open up and see how fun life can be!!!! Or maybe organize a crafting class of some sort....

Theres an empty building just up the road from me...a short walk very short walk...looks as if it were used for local produce sales or something to that effect....I would love to get a grant and fix that building up for an art gathering...like mini art retreat for locals. I wanna teach darnit! LOL It would be great to have a once a week summer Kids Day to teach them the love of art and give them a bit of self-confidence! OHHHHh what a fun idea!

Well, I think I have rambled on long enough hehe....so off to finishing up 6 aceo/atcs I started last night!

New 4 x 4 Art Squared! "Don't Fret My Friend We Shall Soar Together". I love this little fairy and her small feathered friend. There is so many stories you could tell with just this one image!

I used a scrap of wallpaper for the background and the texture is see is gauze bandaging! hehe Gives it a nice texture and adds interest to this piece!

I have been finishing up many projects I had started and finally got them all finished! Whew!
I couldn't believe all the stuff I had going lol

This one is not up on ebay yet not sure how I want to list it just yet...especially on the shipping...I want to make sure I can afford this! This is a collage I did on 8 x 10 canvas...with acrylic painted background..."Pennies From Heaven For Me and You" with actually pennies adhered to the canvas( is this legal LOL) Sides are painted in a Island Green.

Actually alot prettier in person! With my poor photography...I am using a web cam on some of my pics so lighting is not usually good....The flower on her dress is a pretty silk flower I have in my stash...picked them up long ago at a craft store...Ya know all the ones that fall on the floor....so I asked for them hehe....got me a huge bag of them! I placed a few gems to top off her crown! Not so sure I like the colors of them. The face image I got from

IMT challenge~Nancy B's Childs Play

This weeks IMT challenge Childs Play.....Isn't this face just adorable...I don't think I quite met the childs play challenge but.....I seen this cute adorable face in a magazine with that cute cuddley bear outfit on and just couldnt resist! This is done on a 5 x 7 canvas...border and sides painted in a pale baby girl pink....and added buttons to frame the picture! I am almost tempted to use the words from another piece I am working on to go on the right side on this piece "Love Me Tender."

I've got to run...I have a ad to type and before I can do that I need to finish a couple pieces for listings on eBay...and they had to go and raise listing fees ....ugh! I really didn't need that right now! But gotta do what I gotta do! So off I go...got to make some breakfast for my crew and get on with all these other things! Tootles!!

A sticky tape collage just for me!!

I was inspired by IMT sticky tape collages....this is not finished by all means...but I spent last night scrouring magazines for images I liked and making sticky tape transparencies with them....the background is handmade paper and can be found at ArtByChrysti's Covet Me eBay store... http://stores.ebay.com/Covet-Me you will also find wondeful works of art she has for sale and lots and lots of fun embellishments for your art needs! The image came in a package of goodies from her store! So pretty! Thank You Chrysti! There are so many elements in this piece I can't even begin to name them all but here is just a few...buttons from www.collagestuff.com Vintage dictionary pages (found this dictionary at our local antique shop) Old book pages from books I got at a flea market....and images found in Country Home magazines...(they have some awesome antiques in there) ....

I am thinking this would look great in a white shadow box made to look shabby chic...with maybe bits of lace and maybe a small vintage medicine bottle or two and more buttons....

This wonderful gal will spread out newspaper on her floor(which by the way she paints on them too!) grabs a handfull of junkmail and invites her children to come play and paint with her! IF sacrafice~ "A Mothers Sacrafice"

Yesterday I was so tired...it was frusterating just getting thru the day...I felt like a cat under glass with butterflies and birds teasing and taunting me....so (with her tongue perched between her lips...she takes a breathe and blows a short but loud and quite satisfying rasberry)hehe

I suppose I don't need to fly everyday lol...guess it was Gods way of telling me to take a break and relax. Very hard for me to sit still very long unless I am creating something...even then I am jumping around and rolling across the floor in my desk chair.

Anywho...this is my piece for IF sacrafice. Titled, "A Mothers Sacrafice. The lady in the chair represents me and the 2 girls represent my own 2 girls....on the bottom left you cant see it but there is a note written to my girls as follows, " for my girls....I will sacrafice everything I have and everything I am to give you the life you deserve."

Now onto figuring out of how to make a thumbnail to put on IF website....I am sure I know how to do this..but the "how" eludes me. lol Chalk another one up to sometimerz hehe.

Sales are not good this month and from what I hear July and August are just not good for that...My hubby said last night that, "Just wait till all the children go back to school and then all you ladies will have all the time you need to shop." Least to say he got the raised eyebrow and a playful smack on the arm! LOL

He had a great day at work and told me that he really feels he will enjoy this job....After dinner I pointed him to his computer where there is a dozen sticky notes I left for him of job inquiries....I tell ya the sun is shining on him! You go hunny!

"Counting Her Blessings"
Each number represents important dates or number of things in my life that are of importance.

This is my first IMT challenge and enjoyed it tremendously!

This piece was done on cardstock with crayon, acrylic paints, text stamping, vintage photo, music sheet scraps, old dictionary page and book page, numbers are done with packing tape transparancy and added paper game pieces and an old cigar band.

Chrysti's and Suzie's Challenge

On the bottom left is a challenge given to me from Chrysti..Monochromatic/White ...I call it "Angels Watching Over Her" It was a tough one! Thank You Chrysti! It was definately a challenge hehe! As so was Suzies challenge of phychedelic art...Whew! Spent all last evening doodling and coloring the pic on the top right! What yall think! Last night was so much fun the whole family was sitting in the living room doodling something or another...and yes even hubby was involved....He helped inspire me to do this piece....he even drew some hippy art on junk mail! I finally finished coloring mine in this morning...did it with crayola colored pencils...Thank You Suzie for the challenge! I hope it was what you had in mind! I titled it, "Birth Of A New Day".

This morning I also added IF and IMT to my blog list of challenges for myself....the more I am challenged the more I learn and grow! So, now on to those challenges and getting some more art listed on eBay!

Update for this evening!

I wanted to say a Big Thank You to all my friends who said a prayer for my family! As of this afternoon my familys prayer was answered! My hubby goes back to work tomorrow! Yippy!!!
This has been an amazing day and feels like the weight and dark clouds were lifted and once again hear laughter ringing in our home! Thank you all! Thank You God! Dear God bless all my friends and family that their prayers are answered too! My wish for us all is happiness and peace! Oh Jude! Thank you darlin'! All these goodies are so lovely! I feel loved today!!!! Goodies starting at top left is a beautiful fabric ACEO and so wonderfully embellished and comes with it's very own fabric pocket! Moving to the top right...and original collage by Jude aka Judy Scott!! I lurve it babe! If you move on down to the bottom left she also made me a fabric ACEO atc book that wraps up with pretty green silky bow! On top of it is a sweet lil ACEO atc card she made (it was tucked neatly in side the atc fabric holder book! Underneath the atc is a sweet card made by Jude also! I love it all Jude! It made my day girl! I am all excited I can hardly type hehehe...Thank you for sending me a ray of sunshine Jude ..Love you babe!

Now I got to find some special places for my goodies hehe! What fun!

Now I am sitting here listening to big band music and played two of my favs from Frank Sinatra and one by Bing Crosby...which in turn inpired me to create something with the names of the songs....No I am not telling! I am going to try to get Chrysti's challenge done today and then move on to the challenge Suzie gave me....Rollin ideas around...just hope it looks as good on canvas as in mah head lol...thats kinda scarey ya know...phsycedelic colors rolling around in mah brain hehehe....and to think it is all natural!! LMAO

Well I spoiled myself today! Shusssssh! Don't tell my landlords lol...I deserve it hehe....I got me a scale/postage machine....:D That way I know I have postage to keep eBay up and running! Actually it was hubbies idea...he knows I will buy for everyone else but myself....as you prolly figured I got my Paypal card today! It will all work out! I have faith in my family! Now I need to go finish a couple projects so I can pay for that derned postage machine LOL Then get Chrysti's challenge done and Suzies challenge started!! Sure is quiet lately! Too quiet!

Spent today making some more of my ACEO/atc's...This is one I haven't listed yet...I did list 4 new ones today!

"Sweet Baby Love" created on cardboard covered with wall paper sample....those tiny hearts I cut out by hand lol Yikes...cut them from one of my painted magazine papers...I inked the edges with gold ink....the cute lil baby is from a collage sheet I got from www.tuscanrose.com a while back...this card looks alot different in person...the background is a bit more pink than purple and the text background is pink also.

I still have my store on eBay..which btw is shrinking everytime I look at it...not just the lack of sales but the lack of funds to keep it stocked....I am going to hold on tight to this store with all I've got! This is my dream and it's mine and I am going to dang well keep it!! :) I will be sticking to making aceo's till it hurts lol....

Somethings got to give here soon! I have to do what I got to do to make all the money I can ...school is right around the corner for my girls in August! I can't believe how fast the summer is going....This morning my hubby and I sat down and worked out a game plan for what funds will be coming in....it will be a tight squeeze but I think we can swing it....He starts back to his seasonal job(God willing) at the end of August ...so we just got to hang in there till then....It is stressful here and the kids are feeling it by acting out...not bad but its just not a good feeling for all....I think we all need to go outside and play a little badmitten (sp) or volleyball and work off this stress....If only I could get my lazy arse dressed ...just hanging out in my nightshirt all day..ugh! Well at least it is comfy! hehe

I am still kicking! hehe.....Try It Tuesdays week 7 challenge... Altered Postcards using Photo transfers.....this was really really really fun! Even though I didn't have all the materials...it did teach me alot of new things!

Yes, Chrysti...I am still working on that mono/white piece....that one has really got me baffled LOL which don't take a whole lot lol....I will finish it though...that is a promise! :)

Then on to Suzie's physcadelic(sp) challenge....well...i do like wild colors...so it shouldnt be too hard lol Maybe cheat and get me some far out clothes and go go boots and take a piccy...lol ...ummm no...Lord knows I need some altering but that would be taking it a bit too far lol..

I am going to try and do some more of my new atc's like the ones with bright colors posted on flickr...then off to get me a shower!

A Prayer For My Family

I know I made another blog for my gripping and groaning but this is a special piece and I wanted to share it with you.

As you know our family is going thru some tough times right now...and I was at the point of giving up today...I decided to try and put my feelings down on paper thru art.

The church image I found on Collage Images Flickr site...it spoke to me because it reminded me of home and looks so much like the church my parents were wed in..

While I still lived in WA the church I just spoke of was gutted out by a fire. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I wish you all could of seen the inside before that had happen...The most beautiful statues and stained glass windows I had ever seen! What a shame.

After I finished this piece along with my prayers...I now once more feel hopeful again! This piece at a later date will be framed an hung in our home to remind us there is always hope.

It is raining again! Kind of nice and calming though!

"Memories" I suppose you could say that songs are my inspiration these last few days. It reads, "Pictures may fade...Memories will remain". I added some small metal eyelets to each corner of the words...except one I could only fit 2 eyelets on it. There are 4 image transparencies in this piece...3 of my grandparents...top where it is green is a picture of my grandfather and his brothers having a beer and a smoke lol...I had no clue my grandfather did either one of those things lol....the picture is faded a bit with a little help.....the second one in center in yellow...is a pic of my grandparents....and in green at the bottom...barely seen is my grandfather and brother? friend? not sure...riding bicycles. The baby is an instant relative lol....and on far left is a transparency of a post card...Lots of stuff in this one!

And that green at bottom is actually a piece of Chrystis handmade papers I bought in her store....Lovely stuff!

I really can't explain why I am suddenly creating vintage pieces....I think maybe it is a part of Judes challenge of shabby chic she gave me.....I bet your wondering what happened to all the funky colors and Zetti style.....it is still with me.....guess I have to be in the right erm maybe wrong frame of mind lol to Zetti! It will happen....Could be my mood swings that bring on all these different pieces LOL ..... should call it Menopausal Art LMAO....it is up for grabs on eBay

"New Day Dawning"

A Happy 4th of July to all those who celebrate it! And a Happy Day to everyone! This piece was created yesterday afternoon..."New Day Dawning".....I was in a mood yesterday and was trying to keep hope and faith that things will get better here at home.....As I was mopping the kitchen floor yesterday morning....My hubby walks in...I am thinking wait a min...what are you doing home...but before I could say anything....I seen the look in his eyes and on his face.....the company he was hired by....canceled the contract for no good reason....and what doesn't make sense is they just set him up with his lil cubicle office, computer, name plate, pager, his own phone, security badge to get in and around the building......wth!!!! Neither one of us can figure it out....he has done nothing wrong! He is a hard worker and deserved that job!!!!! NOW what...school is coming, bills are piling up and we just told the landlords when to expect rent!! For crying out loud...does it ever end!!!! God is really testing our faith and strength...has been since we have been together! What more do we need to do!!! I am scared to death y'all! I am sorry to dump on y'all like this..just got to get it out so I can move on.....pffffffffft! I am just so sick of this crap! Sure makes it hard for someone to stay hopefull, now doesn't it....Enough already!!! sheesh

Well that means I have got to work my arse off even more...and what ever funds come my way thru my art will be transfered to our bill account..... Oh heavens me! Why wonder I get depressed! LOL I don't take anything for it....don't like any type of medication....But I am about this close to knock on doors with my neighbors...holding a cup...."hey! can I borrow a cup of prozac"? LOL.....Ya ah hu....they already think I'm nuts...or wierd....*insert eyes crossed*

OK that is the end of my B & M for the day! Off to work I go! Not gonna let the holiday keep me from it!

There is life after coffee! hehe

Just waking up here on Sunday mornin....drinkin my go-go juice aka coffee.....The image shown is my Shabby Chic challenge from blog sista Jude...This was my first attempt at the shabby chic....Not too bad I guess! It was fun and frusterating....Waiting for crackle to crackle is not fun LOL...Much like watching paint dry or water boil...anywho, you get the point! But I was pretty pleased with my results!

I got the image from the lovely Chrysti ! Thank you babe! The lil girl image is so beautiful!

I first started out with an old tin biscuit lid...kinda white washed it (had no idea what the he-double hockey sticks I was doin) then adhered the girl image and dictionary page bit to bottom....then did the crackle medium....while that was taking it's sweet time I made a sculptured heart from clay that you bake in your oven! Painted it white and used antiquing gel medium on it and wiped off excess.....after all was dry ..hmmm about another days time.....I added a bit of white paint very tiny bit around the picture to give it a dreamy look....then used antiquing gel medium again over all...and again wiped off excess....and I'm telling you what! Watching that crackle come alive, was the best!!!! I was hopping in my chair so excited to watch this happen! YIPPY!

Now I am working on my second challenge from blog sista Chrysti.....Monochromatic-White(hope I am spelling that right) She stated...That means no color now Nance! Wahhhhhhhhhh
I responded ...How about polka dots hehehe.....This piece is going to take me at least a couple weeks.....I ordered a couple items to add to it....cuz if you know me I love colorrrrrr....I had absolutely no white things to add.....I have added some painted white things (had to paint them white lol) ...The only other hints I will give you is that it is 13x13, and it is sentimental.....Aren't I just the evilest thing Muahhhahaaha! :)

Lil devil he is lol

I know bad photo....LOL This lil creature I made about a year ago! "Devilish Costume" He must think he is trying to get away with something with a candy corn costume....he is still a lil devil regardless hehehhe! He is made from baked clay....secured to a wooden base....painted with acrylics and has a cute little black cat candy bucket! I'm tellin ya what I giggled thru the whole process of making him! I still do LOL

I have been challenged again!!! This time by the wonderful ArtByChrysti aka Chrysti...Monochromatic ....White!!! Thank you Chrysti....ahem brat! LOL hehe..Got ideas rolling around now! hmmmmmmm Whew! You girls are tough! LOL But I will do it!

Last night we bought fireworks! Yippy! No big thing here you can by them year round and they are legal hehe.....My girls had a little friend over to play....so I gave them some popits to play with (little white paper balls that you throw at the ground and make a snap!!!) Then hubby got them out some sparklers....the little neighbor girl had never seen such a thing....they all got two a piece and had a blast!!! Hubby with his ornery self...got out firecrackers lol And as it got dark we set off some whistlers(well thats what I call them.....they shoot into the sky like a crazy rocket and then expode into beautiful colors.....so fun!!! LOL

Ok, I am off to go try out this monochromatic challenge of white....I know Chrysti ! No colors! Pout!!! hehe

Here is page layout for my BOH 19 and 20. Not real crazy about these pages...I like the images...was trying out different colors.....But it is always fun to explore and learn things by accident and learn from mistakes too. The one on the left has a chinese take out box picture...I was craving chinese food from our fav resturant....So was my hubby...this was just before fathers day when we had planned to go there to eat...and thats when we checked our bank and had all that hubbub...You know the rest of the story LOL

I thought I would try something new in my ebay store....I now have collage goodie packets...with like 50 items in it....paper, game pieces...fun stuff ! LOL We will see how that goes! I also, got brave and put one of my sculptures up for sale....*biting fingernails* hehe.....

It has been really hot here in SC the last two days....girls were invited yesterday to go swimming at a friends house 2 doors down... I am so glad they made friends with this little girl....so polite and cares about her friends....The have another lil girlie friend down the other way...which I adore she is so funny and reminds me of my oldest daughter....Just happy and silly! Well both of my daughters are silly.....I have no clue where they get that from! hehe

I am still working on Jude's challenge of "Shabby Chic" ....The crackle medium didnt crackle as much as I had hoped for....but I have yet to add some antique gel medium to the piece....hopefully that will fill in the tiny cracks and make them more appearant...we shall see!
I hope to have it up by the end of the day ....but this is one project that seems to be taking its sweet time hehehe

To start off with....Jude!! You are one silly nut...I love that! After reading Chrysti's blog, on her art, tips, and her needing to be challenged with her art....I think Jude and I had the same idea....Something funky with bright colors...I told her "and dont forget the polka dots" hehe.

The time has come!....As I would like all of you to give me a challenge...Take me away from my comfort zone!.....What would you like to see? Style? Colors?

I am not challenging myself much...and really really need to! I am doing the same ol art pages over and over, they all are starting to look the same with just diff images....What a bore!

Good News!

This morning I checked with our bank after my hubby talking to them last night and to my surprise this a.m. THEY GOT OUR MONEY BACK!!! YAY!!! We are not in the hole anymore! YIPPY! Ohhhhh and about our landlords and the extremely late rent payment...The realtors office they go thru to get our rent called us last night....and she said that the landlords are not worried about the rent right now...they said we can play catch up and just start with July's rent..they had also told the realtor that they were extremely impressed with the way we took care of their house....we have done some improvements out side and also keep our lawn mowed...probably the only ones on the block who care about how the appearance from the street looks....wonder when they drove by to see this....but it sure made us feel good....glad they didnt see the inside of the house LMAO....its not that bad as it sounds....its summer the kids are home and I only do my tidying up and basic chores...I will do deep cleaning as soon as they start back to school in the fall........We have also been working on our living room...has that rustic country feel....with french country yellow trim and americana wall hangings (btw I made them all hehe) I will show you when we are finished got some touch ups to do, and hopefully have some new furniture in there by late fall or early winter (fingers crossed).

Photo is of my BOH page layout 15 &16(btw am I a page layout behind lol...) ah well...I have things to list on my eBay...got to get busy on that....Since I havent been doing a whole lot of art pages ...I am going to list some of my previous art pages that were ppl's favs on Flickr...and see how that goes....One in particular I am going to have a hard time parting with....Do you remember "Keeper of the Pod People" well thats the one lol.....Gotta do what I gotta do!

I did find me some paints online yesterday and puchase 20 the cheap kind erm affordable....I wonder how well they hold up as far as the aging process compared with the more expensive paints.....I suppose if I seal them well enough that shouldnt matter...I appreciate all the info you all offered on which paints etc...right now I am making a new wish list for either the Lumiere paints or Goldens fluid acrylics...they are both wonderful paints....and another thing I want to get is some 140lb hot press water color paper. I have water colors just havent done much yet with them.....I am better with oils...but yall know how long that takes to cure LOL

Here are 13 and 14 page layout of my BOH....I love the way these turned out...especially the colors....

I have been contemplating for the last few days....of what kind/brand of acrylic paint I want....#1 I can find the cheepo acrylic paints online that accepts paypal...#2 the Lumiere paints are a bit spendy but not as much as some(just not sure they will do what I need them to do) #3 However I did find some really cool paints (bright lovely colors) on the stampington/somerset shoppe..."making memories scrapbook color kits" .......I like bright colors...I love the ones that Missy Judy uses or if you have seen in Flickr Allisonbees art(especially that red and blue she uses) those really look close to the ones I seen in the Somerset shoppe ....love those colors! I know how it is with artists(I should know I am one lol) that we don't give away all our secrets....But for the undecisive ppl like me ....(heck when hubby wants to take me out for dinner he will ask where do you want to go...I will reply I dont care you decide...then I get the eye rolling look) I am not a good decsion maker....I just know the look I am going for with my art.....I don't want yall to give away your secrets....but youve seen what I do in art....which do you think would suit me best and give me that color I am looking for?.....I really hate to ask yall.....IM STUCK! lol....I get stuck alot......so I am asking for help!!!!! Before I go totally nutz(which btw aint to far off lol)....I am not trying to copy anyone...I just know what colors I like and what I would like to achieve with them....Have I confused you yet LOL....I am sure my answer is in what I wrote....Maybe I should take a chance and just ask a few artists what they use.....what could it hurt....but at the same time....So I am inquisitive!! I like to know lol....

The picture on the very top is what I bought from Missy Chrysti! YAY love her stuff....But I was quite disappointed with the mail delivery....my hubby had a small package in the mail too...and the mail person put a thick rubber band around both and stuffed them in the mail box...UGH...I ended up with crinkly papers....Not happy with the mail person! I told Chrysti I was going to kick the mail car the next time it went by the house lol......The fibers Chrysti has in her store are gorgeous!!! I gots me some! Well son of a gun....I lost my whole post! *#()@)_@ ...It wouldnt let me add a pic anywho! (grumble grumble) Ugh! my photos are aweful lol.....Sorry y'all...I will work on trying to get better pic's for you! hehehe

For my friends....If you bought a computer just for the reason of having a CD burner....Don't! You can purchase a CD ROM for about $50.00 (comes with burning software) and easy to install! Most all computer towers have a slot for them. BTW if you have any computer issues save them for later in the evening or the weekend and my hubby will help you with them...If we can't do it over the puter we can call you and walk you thru it all. So, don't be shy! Hubby is good at what he does and is always willing to help my friends out! Speaking of which Lia, I need to talk with you about what you told me last night....I didnt fully understand what you were saying til I got into bed last night and started thinking about it....and then the light bulb came on LOL I will email you shortly !!!!!!! :)

Hubby starts his new job today !!! YAY him!!! He was up at 5am and woke me up asking me to braid his med/longish hippy hair! lol ....5am (Yawn!) Ah well I am up now hehe.... Later I have to walk to the post office....I really dont want to walk that far!

Whens the last time you Defraged your computer??

Ok ladies! When is the last time you done a disc cleanup and defraged your computer??? Hmmmmm? hehehe....As much as we use our computers these two things should be done once a week! If your time is limited then at least do these once a month!

1. Go to your start menu....ya know the little button that says start hehe....click start...highlight all programs.....highlight accessories.....highlight system tools.....a box will open up with a small list....click "Disc Cleanup"...let that run and go get you a cup of coffee.

2. Go to your start menu again...Click start....highlight all programs....highlight accessories....highlight system tools.....again a box will open up....Click "Disk Defragmenter" This one will take quite awhile if you have never done it AHEM!!! or havent done it in awhile....So go create something wonderful while the computer is doing its thing! This program will help put files you use most in front and help your computer to run a bit faster.

So, easy! I do this myself.....its a simple task and a must to get the most out of your computer!

If your lacking disc space....What I do is put...lets say all my photos(family friend etc) in one folder and the burn them to disc....opens up more disc space....and now you have a personal cd to look at all your photos at one time!.......I do this with all my art too!(I do it like each season of the year...) Plus, You could burn all those images you get from Flickr's Collage Images(not for posting art)...and make yourself your own Vintage images CD!!! Cleaning your computer is so important!!! Think of it as one of the family...in order for it to function properly...you have to take care of it!

Anywho!!!! Here is pics erm 9 and 10(I think, lol lost count) of the BOH....Sorry for the poor photography once again hehe. Much more fun to look at in person!

OMG I didn't get up till almost NOON!!! Yikes!! lol.....I have few days (I hope) that I can sit back and relax...pfffffft ya right...who am I kidding lol......Last night I cut out all my ACEO atc cards and put backgrounds on them....I got a ton of these lil puppies hehehhe.....I didn't have any mat board....so I used one of my shipping boxes from USPS (Hey, lol they are free hehe) plus they are very sturdy(didn't I say this yesterday???? hmmm dejavu(did I spell that right? don't look right for some reason lol )....I dont get out much (hubby is usually the one to go to the print shop) so, these boxes can be mailed right to your door....hehehe
Ya call it whatever you want...cheap, lazy....I dont care LOL....OHHHHHH if you want free craft supplies...check out your local home improvement store....often they if you can catch them at the right time....you can get their old wall paper sample books or paint chips or the wood chip samples for wood stains etc.....I talk to much lol...I'mmmmmmm outta here! :))

Here is what I did last night...I made up a whole batch of images to make transparacies! I will now have lots of them on hand when I am looking for that special piece for a collage! After reading Chrysti's tips on her blog http://chrysti.wordpress.com/ on organizating your spaces. I spend the wee hours of the night doing just that! Looks more like an organized mess but I can find everything! I even made my own magazine holder out of a USPS flat rate box LOL ...Hey! it works for what I need! I may cover it with some groovy paper at some point!

I suppose I can give y'all another sneak peek at my BOH hehe! Pages seen here are 7 &8 layout

The one on the left with the pokey dots the background is actually a bright sunny yellow! Darn camera lol. This book has so much stuff to look at! Hmmmm wonder if I should auction it off hehe...What y'all think!!?? I would have no clue what to start the bid at LOL ...That is one of my downfalls...ugh! It is so hard to put a price on your own art!

Good Morning All!!!! Here is page #5 and #6 layout for my "Book Of Hmm". I used alot of Lia's idea for painted junk mail on page 6. Even though I love TM's collage bits....I really need to come up with more of my own. I have maybe like 6 of my own face images...sucks lol....Not much for inspiration there to use in my art lol....ahh well....The little crow head on page 5 is of my own....I think my little dress pieces are getting old...the same thing different day....anyone got ideas for new outfits for my creatures???? I know quit yer bitchin woman LOL ...I try so hard not too....really I do! ......I have been also working on a personal art journal....it is done in a magazine....ever heard of a mens mag called...Best Life....its a mail freebie so I am not complainin LOL shhhhhh......anyways the pages in this magazine are thick and have a nice feel to them....so I said to myself ...why not turn it into a journal hehehe...When you limited to stuff on hand...you use what is available to you!

OMG I had this dream last night....that hubby and I were thrill seekers LMAO Strange hu?....I mean I am somewhat adventurous but not sitting at the edge of the ocean on the beach at full tide waiting for huge waves to hit and envelop you LOL.......I swear this wave looked like a tidal wave in a hurricane.....YIKES!!!! Then next I know we are in a hotel and I am grabbing luggage bags ...rushing around the room.....telling hubby come lets go for our next adventure....HOLY CRAP!!! lol .....the things I dream about...I have no idea what that was about...anyone have a dream analogy for this??? Whats your view? LOL

I need to get busy here....I have only created 2 images for my new site...for the homepage....ugh! What a chore!!! The idea for it and hubby and I talking about it was much more enjoyable than actually doing it.....it is tedious work.....

Oh Judy bring me a Tshirt back that says, "Brisbane" LOL Just kidding doll! I seen the birds eye view of where your son and daughter in law are living....They sure found a sweet spot to call home!! And so close to the beach!!! Beautiful!!!!

Even with all the stuff I stuffed into them....I still feel a need to stuff more in the book lol...eh well ....Anywho...I slept in till 10am this morning *shocked face* I was so exhausted from my previous events of the day before LOL....I don't think I budged this morning lol..Guess I will have to ask my hubby on that one hehe...Ok I won't say no more before I get myself into trouble with him LOL Lets just say I vaguely remember a birthday suit LMAO

And when I am finally awake, I will work on Judys technique for this weeks challenge in TIT group...hehe those initials crack me up LOL ....I got an idea for this technique as far as the acrylics go...I want to mix a couple of acrylics I have on hand for a patina color and then with the rusty color.....Off I go to fill my cup with Java!!!!

Hello Y'all!!! I know you have been waiting for a peek inside my "Book Of Hmm" so I posted here 2 picks....page 1 and 2 layout!!!...Now keep in mind there is nothing fancy about this book...it is pure nonsense lol...just the way I like it hehe....It was about exploring who I am...in a sense...and for me to learn how to let go....not to plan a page....just cut, glue and stick it on a page LOL....I have such a hard time with this....same with life...I cant seem to concentrate on one thing for very long...I am always worried about what I just previously did and thinking about what comes next.....Hubby says slow the cart down woman!!! lol....and just do one thing at a time...ya ok....love you too....my mind just dont work that way....he makes me soooo jealous of his memory skills and how well he absorbs info....and doesnt forget it!!! Pffffffft!!! Hey hunny can I borrow your clarity hehe.....

Anywho....I would also like to let you know...I will be really super busy for a month or so.....I am going to redesign my main website....and move it to another location.....Yup...going to do some website building....it is well over due....and my main website seems to be lacking that certain oooompf.....I am going to redo the whole thing and use my art for my webpages....but first I have to design the background and add details as I go....It's gonna take alot of coffee, hair pullin and lots of determination.....I have learned so much from my hubby about computers...and things I have learned on my own (which he was surprised at what I have learned on my own) between his geeky techy skills and my own we figured out how to build a website....and not pay a damn dime to use the website.....Yippy! Nope no website builder montly fees! Worth celebrating dontcha think !!! LOL.. Well anywho here is a peek at the page layout for my book.... Sorry once again for the image color....it is much brighter in person than the image seen here.....I have got a nice camera on my wish list with Santa hehe....but I really want a color laser printer....maybe I have been good enough so far this year I will get spoiled at Christmas time LMAO...One can dream can't they???!!!! *BIG GRIN*

I hope I have enough page images to keep ya busy while I am doing all this website stuff lol....I will still blog daily if time allows....I am so excited about this hehehehehe...can't wait to get started ...so off I go!

To hmmm.....Yup! "The Book Of Hmm" is finished!!! Yippy! But just to tease ya a bit longer, I still have to get pictures of the book.....hopefully I will have them up sometime tomorrow!
Now the question is....do you want to see the book all at once? or taunt you daily with a photo here and there of each page?......I will let y'all decide.....and then I will post the majority vote! hehehehe

As far as the bank incident......no changes to update you with.....but with a little faith and hope....maybe some good will come out of this....don't know how but, I am not giving up!

Was feeling a bit ill today.....one because of a bad stomach, due to no gall bladder (again too much information) Plus feeling a bit low on iron these days...yup! I am anemic....always have been....my steam just went out of me..(if ever a door was left wide open for comment...thar ya go lol )..felt blah today.....after dinner time I sunk into my big comfy chair and watched Princess Diaries with my daughters.....hey! its a cute movie :P
I explained to them that the lady that played the queen in this movie was Julie Andrews the same lady that played the ever so loving nanny in Mary Poppins....my girls looked at me in disbelief.....I guess we are going to have to watch that movie now...just to save face LOL

Ahhh to be a child..........pffffft IIIIIIIIII don't wanna grow up imma toys r us kid....lalallalalala

When things go from bad to worse....

Sorry no pic today....There is no pic to be found for the way I am feeling right now......I am so getting tired of this roller coaster....one day happy one day sad.....##)$%*&#$....excuse my cussing and words today friends as I need to get this out.......As things are...we are still oweing rent for this month and next month approaching at a speedy race.....a car payment...so my husband can go to work at his new job...which doesn't start for another week......Here is what is going on.....my husband checked our bank account and I heard cussing and yelling from inside my studio...which I wasn't in at the time.....I came to see what was the matter....seems what little we had saved for our bills in our bank account has been depleted by some scum sucking lowlife SOB.....I really hope this As***** is enjoying this money.....as for us our next address will be coming from a cardboard box....God willing I hope our landlords will be understanding of this situation......As for my businesses.....so much for dreams.......from the look of things will most likely have to close them....unless some Miracle should happen......I ask you my friends who visit me here......Please Please....say a prayer for us! I can't take this no more......NO I am not going to do anything stupid......my family needs me now and I have to be the strong one here.....to hold things together.......Dear God I need your strength and will to help me get thru this and to bless us with your love......Amen.... I have no more tears left to cry....the well the come from has went dry.....I again apologize for letting loose here.....as I couldn't think of anywhere else to let go....Thank you for bearing with me.

To Market To Market......

This is an Art Page I finished this morning, "To Market To Market.." Yesterday I was browsing the grocery store ads and clipped out these lil pictures of strawberries, taters and maters...And thought I would make an art page with the them of the local produce markets that I miss so much.

I am feeling somewhat better today....but on the other hand didn't sleep well with the buckets of rain pouring down all night...usually I enjoy the pitter patter of raindrops....we got the end of the hurricane with winds and lots and lots of rain....we have huge puddles of standing water in our yard...That is what worried me all night...was flooding....just not what I need right now lol....

I am working on my "Book of Hmm" today....trying to get it done....some have mentioned wanting to view this book.....ah ah ah! You have to wait till it is finished hehe....I'm such a tease lol. It will be done soon 3 pages to go and still have the back cover to finish and then add some frillys to the outside...

Things will catch up here soon at home...financially wise....Hubby starts his new job the 26th...a very good job at that! I am so proud of him! He however will be on a yearly contract with this company...so I am hoping and praying at the end of this contract that they decide to keep him...not only does our family need this but for him also....something steady...I so hate to see him stressed out....He deserves this job and has worked so hard the last 5+ years to be an accomplished IT....

No pictures today....I suppose for every good day there is a bad day....hmmmpf! I just got thru PMS didn't I??? Well it is definately not PMS this time round....Not too long ago I only had a washing machine and our house looked like an indoor clothesline...with clothes hanging from every available space......about 3 months ago...my hubby bought me a dryer...used...but I didn't mind at all...anything is better than spending time hanging each individual piece of clothing up to dry.....Today my youngest daughter asked if she could push the start button when I was finished putting clothes in the dryer...sure why not I said....well when I was finished and closed the dryer door....instead of gently pushing the start button my daughter slapped it a good one....least to say now my dryer is broke.....it took everything I had not to scream....I swear this girl breaks everything in her grasp....I am short 3 coffee mugs of a set....I wine glass short of a set that I use at holidays.....ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!! I am not looking for sympathy here or pity....I just wish I could keep things in this house....bills are behind and if it is not one thing its something else......Today I just need to vent this steam off somewhere...sorry to leave it on y'all.....

Princess Zetti's Good Day

I'm not grumpy anymore.....It is safe to come out now lol...Had a pretty good day today...feeling more like myself again....

This is one of my many painted papers...which I have been eyeing for awhile now...wondering what in the heck I was going to do with this paper....I doodled and journaled over the entire paper hehe....Then added a few TM collage pieces and made a few of my own....As for the bottom piece you can probably guess what I also did today....made a two layer round chocky cake.....Although I don't eat cake...my family loves it! Now if it were pie! I would take a slice of that...anything but banana cream pie....aweful allergic reaction to banana's....erm not a perdy sight lol

Today started out clear skies and sunshine and very warm...had AC on by 9am...and now...severe thunderstorms and pouring buckets...but it is not such a bad thing...I actually love storms like this....nice and cozy in the house with family and spend time creating or watching a movie....Yes! A movie sounds really good and some super buttery popcorn to boot.....See y'all later! :) ..........Still looking for those elusive stripped leggings here Judy LOL

Hehee...I have been playing with my crayons and paint again! Wish the scanner would of captured the true colors....Sooooo much better in person...the blues and greens are so much more vibrant....the blue is almost a turquoise and the green more of a teal.....I wonder if I can do this on canvas..hmmmmm....now if only my order for them derned canvases would come in ...then I could test it out...think I am going to do a few more...these are so much fun!

My Other Half

The half that keeps me from totally losing it, the one that tells me, "No! You may not go dig yourself a hole out back. The one who tries to keep me from going in to PMS crisis by getting me chocolate and something salty to eat(and then run lol). The one that says, "I have confidence in you". The one who says, "I love you"....and means it. The one that calls me, "Brat" ya I love you too my "Creep" hehe. Our little pet names...lol

This is my husband Bob....he is my soulmate for life and then some. My sweet hippy dude. Along with my children he is my life....without him I am only half a person. He makes my heart, soul and life complete.

Ok I know...enough mushy stuff already LOL......I am soooooooo PMSing...Moody, grumpy, etc.

I just had to share this....it isn't finished yet, but here's the thing....Things have been happening in 3's ALOT lately.....remember the (3) ring circus page?! Now this...Hmmmmm.....I don't get it!
Basically what the page says in the background is what has been happening in 3's.....So if you can read the middle guys body....hehehehe....Can I do that? Use that saying? I thought it seemed fitting LOL.....I wonder what all this (3) business means.....wouldn't it make you wonder? (insert raised eyebrow here) .....another thing with this (3) stuff....on eBay I sold 4 atc's right?...well the forth one I am still waiting for a payment...it has gone unpaid for erm 3 days....get the picture here.....My hubby even got the (3) thing going on (now now get yer mind outta the gutter LMAO) He was set up for a phone interview...well the first two times they had problems and couldn't call....so ON the 3rd day they finally called......ahem 3 times a charm(shaking head) BTW we are still waiting for their answer of yay or nay......... Does anyone get this?...cuz I sure don't! .......let me know if ya do...cuz I would surely hate for anything bad to happen in 3's.....

3 Ring Circus

Just finished this piece..."3 Ring Circus" ...the character with the funny hat would be me lol....Been raining off and on here in the Carolinas....and that means havoc in the house...kids, their friends, pets(ok one pet..feels like more) It's like a circus in my house and not the fun kind mind you!

Can I change my name to something besides MOM or Nancy!? I surely need an escape....I have 3 other pieces I am working on and would like to get them finished.....

Closing my eyes....day dreaming here....Oh! I see myself on a tropical beach somewhere...on a nice big hammock...sippin margaritas (though I don't drink, I sure would mind a couple of them!)....I have a nice big juicy novel in grasp....no phones, no computers, no kids, no hubby(sorry dear!) just happy lil me breathing in and out.....oh and no cooking! Amen to that! Hey cabana boy!!??? Hee hee hee...

I was up late last night painting backgrounds on cardstock for my collages....Seems this is the only time to get anything done.....This is the results....I see something! Don't you?...What do you see?...I would love to hear it!
I won't tell you my answer or hubby's answer of what we saw till I see what the verdict is from y'all!

Have you ever stared at the wallpaper in your house or woodflooring or paneling...or (ahem) the back of the bathroom door? lol and seen like faces or animals or whatever?....ok maybe not...I'm just wierd like that lol.

I did three different backgrounds but at 3 am my eyes wanted to call it a night....like my daughter said once when asked if she was tired (you could see her rubbing her eyes and yawning) she stated ..."Nope Im not tired ...just my eyes" LOL silly girl.

Speaking of my daughter she just walked in and wanted to practice crocheting a chain....she still hasnt got the concept...but at least shes trying.....I haven't crocheted anything in a long long time....I used to make afghans(is that the correct spelling?) I am still looking for the Navajo(again spell check) pattern.....I would love to make a blanket for my girls and hubby...if anyone has this pattern let me know....Thanks!

This is a doll I made about a year ago (could be longer lol)
The Uh Oh doll....regardless of her differences she still smiles and has a heart just like all of us....She was purposely made this way.....That no matter what our appearances we are wanting and needing love just as much as the next person....and that beauty is in the eye of the beholder...beauty is only skin deep....beauty lies within our minds and our souls...not what is on the outside.....at least that is where I find the beauty in a person....

All my life people kept telling me how beautiful I was....UGH I hate that....they were looking at the outside and not looking deeper of who I was inside....Inside I was screaming..."HELLO....I've got insides too! Take a look get to know me!

Like they say there is more to a book than it's cover...you have to open the book to understand it's contents....

I spent most of my years taking care of others (still do) just not physically able to work outside the home......The wear and tear of being a Licensed CNA took a toll on my bod...at the age of 41 now...I have arthritis thruout my entire body....ya it hurts....but I just keep going....I am not going to let that stop me from doing the things I love and taking care of the people I love dearly....About 6 years ago...I was in a minor car accident....well the results was whip lash...my neck and shoulders hurt and burn constantly.....the car was titled "totaled"....from working as a CNA...I have something out of wack in my upper back....the pain is unbearable at times.....but I don't let it get me down.....uh uh no way.....so much more to enjoy.....I just think about how little my pains are compared to what Jesus went thru for us....despite his own enemies and non believers.....he never complained....so I try to keep this in mind.....When I got friends here and my family at home.....then I have the best life can offer....Thank you Judy, Suzie, Lia, Tara (whereever you are ) and to you Chrysti..and to anyone I missed ....Hugs to y'all...I don't know what I would do without you! Blessings!

Try it Tuesdays week2 challenge Transparency technique

I think she's got it! I think I finally accomplished the antique look to my art....what do you think?
This piece is created on a 9 x 12 canvas board. I made 5 image transparencies...4 of the old letter image for the background and 1 image transfer of the two little girls...I used this canvas that I had previously used for last weeks challenge...it was an orange and yellow background..I didn't care for it particularly...so I grunged it up with more paint and Tim Holtz's Distress Ink.....Think I will try more of this antique looking art hehe. But I am fond of my quirky zetti art more...so it is pretty hard to tear me away from it....but I like variety.

Painting purdy pictures la la la la la....ACK! Bad picture eh? lol I was inspired by Lia aka ArtJunkGrl.. on one of her blog posts....where she sits down on her hardwood floor with her kids and a variety of paints and her junk mail....and just paints to her hearts content on little bits of paper to use at a later time in her art creations....

So, I grabbed a handful of those annoying little bits that fall out of magazines...you know the ones...business reply cards....and grabbed random paint colors and went to town.....I think I did about 20 of these yesterday....and it was just so much fun that after the kids got home we did more of the same together at the kitchen table.....they are hooked! lol and so is their mommy hehe...Thanks Lia for such wonderful inspiration! Sorry for the poor scanned image....a small collage wall hanging I made awhile back.."dare to dream"........The reason for today's blog is a letter my 8 year old daughter wrote to me...My heart burst with pride and my eyes filled with tears....happy tears....This young life so soft spoken and shy.....has a heart so big that I can't even begin to explain....for someone so quiet she definately has big dreams and thoughts in her mind that are beyond her years.....This is what she wrote to me: "Dear Mom I Love You so much...In my heart I love you...you are the best mom......Your craft is good...you do different color paint on your art...You can do it mom I know you can mom....I Love you Mom. ......Now isn't that just a tear jerker....lol I am still tearing up over here lol.....For such a small girl she sure knows how to make you feel great! She is so amazing ....I know she will go far in life....it is just that soft heart that worries me.....hmm wonder where she got that from hehe....What a special girl God gave me.....Thank you God for her and Thank you my daughter for loving me so much! I love you too! Hugs Mom

I am blessed! I hope this post encourages all my friends to never give up! To always believe in yourself and your dreams....there is so much life to live out there and so much to enjoy....so many people to meet and so much to experience....remember one thing.....all things happen for a reason.....for every bad thing there is a good thing....and everyone that comes into your life has something to teach you....it may not all be good...but it is what you learn from it and how you apply it to life.....how you use your experiences...so go out there! I so love the way the cover for this project came out....woohooo! (insert dancing smilie here)
I have already begun the process of ripping out pages and gluing some together...got a few in clips drying now...ok so I couldn't wait...I just had to create the cover lol....a blank canvas just begging to be altered hehe....This is the book I spoke of in the previous post...anyone that wants to join me in making your own Book Of Hmmm....just say the word...I will offer any advice or ideas that I can muster up...if I don't know the answer...I will search for it! :)

Another art page I haven't had a chance to share with y'all....This was created about 2 weeks ago.....Ya it doesn't make much sense does it lol....most of my art doesn't...kinda like me...just ask my hubby he will tell ya hehe....I tell him you don't have to understand it...sometimes I don't even understand it myself....I just tell him it is fun....it is the process that I enjoy....he says it is different...I just smile and say, "Yup...Just like me".
Still drinking coffee over here....I think it takes me a good pot of it just to be considered awake...the rainstorm woke me from my slumber....was I actually asleep this time??? LOL I think so....hmmmmm.....speaking of which....I am starting a new altered book...."The Book of Hmmmm". Actually my second book of hmmm....but this book will be of things that are totally and utterly nonsense....Just fun....a book to just let the art flow take over and cover the pages...no set rules....you know why....because I can LOL(insert big grin here).....I would like others to join in the fun... if you want to do a book like this let me know!....Hugs to y'all and Have a beautiful weekend!

The serious side of me.

This picture has not been shown to anyone, but to those who may visit here...This is a page out of my personal Journal Art Book (one of many lol). "My Muse". It also reads, Muse it or lose it"....this was made at a time not too long ago, when my muse tells me...Just do it....and also alot of I cannot sit still for long...or just do nothing....I always have to be doing something.

Alot of ppl see me as; talkative, goofy, artistic, or look to me for advice....Most of the time I am happy go lucky....but I DO have a serious side....I find it hard to trust ppl due to past experiences and I choose my friends more wisely now....even at the age of 41 I still have those issues...Tell me..why is it so hard for some to ...Just be themselves....is it really that hard to be honest with someone and themselves....because I will tell you , I have met alot of ppl online that can sit behind a computer and be someone they are not....such a farce....and WHY??....wouldn't they rather be themselves and have fun, than leave their computers with their unhappiness.....and then get themselves all caught up in their own lies....I mean really! Yes I spend alot of time on my computer....not much choice...I am stuck at home mostly...In a new State...don't know anyone....I have met a few ppl...but not someone I would call friend....If I ever do meet any of you....you will find I am the same in person.....good ol goofy me....I am just me. I have my bad days yes! But I deal with them and move on from there...because there are so much many more things to enjoy than to sit idle and mull and dwell over them. And no I am not drinking lol ...I don't drink....this is normal LOL whatever that is....I'm an artist....and if your an artist...I am sure you can relate in some matter lol....Much love to all and hugs!

BOD Last 2 pages "image tranparancies"

Well not so sure about these last two pages....great intentions though....Page on left in red "Dreams of going home" ...missing my mother so I did packing tape transparancies with images of my mother as a baby to early adulthood....I thought to use red...being that it is her favorite color....but results seem a bit ummmm errr wickedly...not in a good way....the last page ....I totally spaced the transparancy thing....haha! ahh well.."Dreams of dancing by the light of the moon"....not so happy with this one either...but the process was enjoyable....That is all the pages I can stuff into this scrapbook....next time definately using an old text book.....still going over ideas for "windows" or "niches"....all I have left to alter is the inside of back cover of this book...so thinking some sort of window for this.....Been busy playing with the Try It Tuesdays week 1 technique....hoping that whilst doing that, some idea for my BOD will arise.

But after reading ArtByChrysti's Blog...I changed my mind....I was having day that just wasn't going well. She picked my spirits up with her favorite things! Thanks for sharing that Chrysti! You work so hard...and your an all around great person and artist...Blessings to you girl...glad to see your taking time to just relax!

I decided to take a picture of some of my favorite things...my toys hehe...bad pic, but just seeing all those colors just takes me to a happy place. Yaaaaaa I am pmsing! Ugh. I too went on a binge and bought me some canvas's and TWINKLING H2o'S. WOOHOOO! Got my fix for awhile...I think it was a bit of "shopping therapy" lol.

The simple pleasures in life is the important thing to remember when your day, week whatever is just not going smooth....My childrens smiles, hugs, my hubbys laugh, sitting all together at the dinner table, The little things are what matters the most. BOD Week 3 pg 12...challenge "transparancies"

Last entry for today. (Be sure to scroll down I have added other
pages, Thanks!) Dream thought for this page "Find Your Voice". Often when I dream at night...I open my mouth to speak and cant be heard...not a single sound comes out....hmmmmm. I used a blue crayon to start my background and then used a dark purple and bright pink colored pencil over that. Looks way more better in person.
Images in center from Teesha Moore...Bug people images are my transparancies, also from Teesha Moore. I made a library pocket at bottom and covered it with an old book page and colored over with a purple crayon and bright pink colored pencil. Inside is a piece I printed out on my puter..."When our Hope, Faith and Belief transcend into clear knowingness...we are truly awaken to experience all the Beingness can offer". Image on front of pocket is also from Teesha Moore...Ok me tired going to go relax!

BOD Week 3 page 11 challenge "Transparancies"

I used the packing tape transparancy(hmmm spell check?) technique. First I went over the page with a pink color crayon, followe by a yellow colored pencil...For the word dream and flowers in white..I used a clear wax crayon(ya know the ones you get in easter egg kits)hehe....then went over it with a red glaze. The baby image up top is from Tuscan Rose...which is what I did the transparancy with. Behind it is an old insurance card from my mothers work place that they no longer use. Doused it with some antiquing gel and whiped off excess with paper towel...at bottom right I made a pocket with a scrap of dictionary page and placed a cutout from a collage sheet from Tuscan Rose...shes a little paper dolly. Got this idea from Tara(thanks girlie!)

BOD Week 2 page 10 Challenge "Layers"

This page has lotsssss of layers...first layer is old music sheets adhered to my page...then scribbled over it in multiple colors using colored pencils and crayons...I then did two layers of glazes....YES arstymama my concoction of gel medium and acrylic paint LOL....first color was done in "yellow ochre" OH wait 3 layers...next is I used a coffee bean acrylic glaze and then black....Images are from Tuscan Rose and then added stickers from Real Life and Sticker Studio...In center it reads "Dreams of Grandbabies" that is a ways off...by that time I will probably be toodling around with a walker LOL. Above in left hand corner is a dictionary entry for "Grandmother". Yes I am looking forward to being a grandparent... miss those little baby chubbers and giggles.

Thinking about making a new set on my flickr site to display my Book of Dreams and then post a link here.....This has been a pretty good day...got a shelf built for my desk by my sweet hubby. He came in with a measuring tape to measure the desk (just humming to himself and not saying a word) came back in and said clear off your desk....then he brought in a shelf he built for me....Awwwwwwwww....he must of seen how cramped I was. I think I had just enough space to work, which is about the size of my Journal art pages lol......now I have things up off my desk and plenty of work space...well enough for me...I was just so happy...Thank you hunny!!!! He mentioned building a second shelf so I can use it for displaying my AB's and other little things.

I've also been thinking about teaching a class! To be honest I wouldn't know where to start as to organizing something like that....I know that there is alot of artists here in the SouthEast...and I know that there are a few folks in SC and NC. Or maybe a weekend retreat and exchange ideas in collage, paint etc. I would love to teach others the joys of art and for some like me it helped me out of a depression...I am back to my happy go lucky self finally and enjoying life and those around me and all the new friends I have made in the art world. Just wish I could meet them in person! But all in all I think I better stick to what I am doing for the moment. Now I am off to post some of my new pages from my Book of Dreams! TTFN

BOD page 7 Week 2 "glazes" and "layers"

I really like this page in my BOD book! But I couldn't stand the thought of glazing lol ....I think what I am going to do is use a clear glitter paint and add some gel medium to it...Cuz I already like the colours in this. What do you think? To glaze or not to glaze lol. I also, need some help from one of y'all ....I use scrapbooking cardstock paper for my base ....Could someone tell me plz as what to use to seal my pages??? I use paint, oil pastels, crayon and colored pencil and I don't want to smudge or smear anything when I go to seal my pages....so any help is much appreciated. :) Thanks!

BOD page 6"Dream Target" Week 2 "glazes"

Now glazing is something I haven't tried....(acrylic paint mixed with gel medium) I was quite fun actually!! This gave me a chance to experiment and try new things...My pages were just screamin for something else! lol Not just the BOD but in my journal art pages too! This may just what it needed. I am getting ready to purchase some rubber stamps here soon....I think my pages need some stamping to them also....give it a bit more depth. This is "Dream Target" I think it's pretty self explanitory....don't ya think? Well maybe to myself...I will let y'all interpret your own view...after all we all think differently and march to our own drums....I think my beat is just a little off LMAO hehe.

I just can't get the hang of this "antiquie" thing...I lean towards the "Quirky and Zetti" feel. What can I say, I like being different LOL. But I will have a few more pages that have the antique look to them...Give the book some variety and diversity. This is page five of BOD from week 1 "Childhood Dreams"...Which I still need to add a pocket too. The "thanks for the memories" is for my parents who adopted me at 5months old...this is the picture of lil ol me at that age ..when they first brought me home :) My parents are the best ppl on this earth...kind, sweet and generous and will go out of their way to help others. I wouldn't trade them for the world!...that is one reason I haven't bothered with finding my biological parents....because I couldn't of gotten a better set of parents...I consider them my "real parents". Thanks Mom and Dad for always supporting my dreams and the encouragement you gave me. And making my childhood the best a child could ask for!!! (sniff sniff) lol

BOD Week2 Page 3 and Page 4(part 1 & 2 )

Page 3: "Imagine and Dream" This page was created at 12am this morning, in free style form. I had a small pile of bits and pieces on my desk and just added them randomly to the page. Good way to get good use out of pile of small images you have shoved to the side. I colored the page using crayons, colored pencils and oil pastels. Did this without a care in the world, letting the colors go where they wanted to go. I am happy with this one. It made me feel happy and carefree to do this page. :)

BOD page 4 (part 1&2) "Dreams of a Secret Garden"
I have always wanted a secret garden to escape to when things
get crazy. The gate door opens to reveal the garden. I found
the gate door in a magazine for a Target ad. On the gate door it
reads, "When one door closes another one opens".

BOD Part 2 of page 4 with gate open to reveal garden. I am starting to feel better about the process of this book. 12 more pages to go lol. Got to get busy. I have some collage sheets available at: www.somethingtwocrowabout.citymax.com on my "Collage Sheets" page.
