I need your imput! Please!

One of my customers bought an ACEO...and in the mail it got bent! As you know eBay has raised their listing fees.....and I try to keep shipping costs down...I usually send the small bit of art in a protective sleeve and wrapped inside the shipping invoice....and then put into a regular envie....Do any of you have any ideas for as to protect the art piece even more for mailing? And keep my costs down at the same time???? I really need your help! This is the first time this has happened....I didnt receive bad feedback but stated I need to basically rethink my packaging! Also...I wonder how I should handle this as far as if I should give her an in store credit? or send her something else? or what? Please help! Thanks!

hi nancy,

sometimes things like that unfortunately occur...

have you tried using those mailers with built-in bubble wrap? perhaps sandwiching your artwork with tissue paper wadded up all around & then slipping it in a slightly oversized padded mailer will help to keep your artwork in place & give it extra cushioning around the corners>>>so basically, the art piece is in the middle, surrounded by tissue padding...does this make any sense? it might be a bit bulky, but i don't think it will cost much more for mailing, since you'd be using tissue paper...

just a thought...

i think sending that customer a brief note of apology & perhaps a complimentary something of yours would smooth things over...

& i think people are understanding if you are sincere & genuine with them!

hope this helps in some way...

I always wrap mine inside extra card and tissue and then a bubble envelope. Mary Anns idea sounds good and when its a genuine accident people are usually really understanding :)Hope all is well now Nance. Loads of love Jude x

I got all mine just fine...not a wrinkle or anything, they are beautiful! I like Mary Ann's tissue idea though, as long as sleeve is on top so nothing sticks....I also agree on M.A.'s resolvement..no refund, perhaps a offer of something else...you ultimately aren't responsible for P.O. unless you have packaged neglectfully and I have never seen that to be the case with you. it also seemed by the comment that she like the artwork (of course, it's amazing!) so that was positive. suggestions help sometimes too to help us tweak things out...I wouldn't do a complete overhaul on how you ship, perhaps just add some extra padding. xxoo Lia

Thank you Jude and Lia....I guess I was just a bit out of sorts when I got that feedback...I stress easily LOL...I will have to get me some padded envies(but those will have to wait a bit) and just wrap them in tissue...and use the reg. envie for now...theres always something needed ...Lawdy!!!!! Ya know I think I am making just enough to cut even and keep myself in the bit of supplies I use...it is fun none the less...my hub says be patient...things will work out...give it some more time...I appreciate all of you giving me suggestions ...it means the world to me....helps when one gets stressed and cannot think straight LOL...but remember I am always here for you too...I don't mind helping where help is needed...that is one thing I have always loved to do is help others in any way I can...so dont ever hesitate! :) Thank you all! Much love and hugs!
